About the Project
Cooking With What's Fresh
Lufavores is an independent recipe project for people who cook with Lufa Farms ingredients.
The Idea
I'm a software engineer by profession, so I built the recipe site I wished existed. Ad-free recipes that get straight to the point, ingredients I have available to me in Montréal, inline step timers, a distraction-free cook mode, and adjustable serving counts.
I start with what's available in each week's Lufa Farms basket and build recipes from there. The goal is practical, home-friendly cooking that makes the most of fresh, local, seasonal produce.
Lufa's inventory changes week to week as the seasons shift, and my recipes follow. When their rooftop greenhouses are full of tomatoes and basil, that's what I cook with. When winter brings root vegetables and hearty greens, the recipes change to match.
How Recipes Are Developed
Every recipe on this site goes through the same process: I look at what's currently available on the Lufa marketplace, figure out what makes sense together, and test dishes that are realistic for a weeknight dinner or a weekend project.
I try to give prep times that reflect reality, quantities that match how Lufa packages their produce, and suggest workable substitutions.
Recipes are linked directly to the Lufa marketplace so you can find the ingredients I'm referencing. If something is listed in a recipe, it should be something you can actually get in your next basket.
Independent & Transparent
Lufavores is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Lufa Farms. It's an independent project built by someone who is genuinely enthusiastic about what Lufa is doing with urban agriculture in Montréal and wanted a recipe resource that matched.
If you sign up through my referral link, you get $20 off your first basket and I receive a $20 credit. That credit helps cover hosting and keeps the site running. I mention this wherever a referral link appears, and I'd recommend Lufa regardless!
There are no other sponsorships, paid placements, or advertising on this site. The recipes exist because I think they're good, not because anyone paid for them to be here.
